Good victory today against a decent Tooting & Mitcham side!
Really poor first half.
They took the lead on six minutes and held it until half-time.
Stanford came on for the second half and inspired us to score three goals in 11 minutes (between 52 and 63).
He got two sandwiched between a header from Botts.
Conceded a sloppy second in second-half stoppage-time, although, held on.
Another victory against Horsham on Tuesday and we will be top of the charts for Christmas.
Not a bad first half of the season is it!?

We were second best in the first half but at least worked hard defensively to keep in the game. This will sometimes be required during a long season. It then allowed our attacking qualities to shine through to score the three quick goals and take control overall later on. Well done lads!
Being lazy myself, I'd like to set FAV army or Dave, etc the challenge of working out how many points we've already gained this season from being in a losing position. It must be getting close to record levels!

Tooting & Mitcham 2-3 Faversham Town
Starting line up:
Simon Overland, Aidan Sherlock, Jamie Maxted, Matt Bourne, Ashley Brown, Geoge Monger, Wayne Wilson, Dave Botterill, Charley Robertson, Dean Grant, Jack Harris.
Football cliches, don't you just luv 'em. I give you the famous "It's a game of two halves". In this case. a game of two completely different halves. And, to a degree, there were some similarities with last weeks game vs Merstham.
T&M start the better. I didn't make a note of the timing of their goal, about 10 I think, but it had been coming. An attack down their right, a low cross across the box to the far post, eludes all, picked up by their forward who has time to control and place home. Seemed a soft goal to concede. We respond, A Charley Robertson run is brought to an abrupt end. Free-kick, just outside the box. Wayne Wilson's free-kick is over. A flowing T&M move down their right, a rasping stike on goal from just outside the box, Simon Overland at full stretch turns it round his left hand post. Vital save. So 1-0 at H-T. Possession wise, T&M's half, no doubt. But just a feeling they weren't really hurting us. So, we can still do this.
Second half. Josh Stanford on for George Monger. And like Merstham last week, we're now at T&M, they can't cope with us and we reap the dividends. On 52, Charley Robertson collects down the right, runs along the line of the area, plays a ball for Josh Stanford which bisects two defenders, Josh is in, and a sublime finish, passes the ball across the keeper into the far side netting. Lovely goal. On 62, a Wayne Wilson corner from our right, Dave Botterill makes it his, keeper gets a hand to it, but too much power on the header. In it goes. 1-2. And a minute later, Dean Grant does exceptionally well down the right, finds a decent ball inside for Charley Robertson, a lofted ball into exactly the right area and Josh Stanford has made it into the area and heads home. Quality football from FTFC. 3 goals in 10 minutes. Stunning stuff. And it could be more. Jack Harris and Dave Botterill combine down the right, lovely football, Dave Boterill's cross is cleared for a corner. Panic in the T&M defence. Jack Harris wins a free-kick. 30 yards out, Wayne Wilson territory, just wide. Jamie Maxted, a superb win in midfield, absolutely committed, to Josh Stanford, Josh to Jack Harris, Jack finds Josh in the centre, the shot is palmed over by their keeper. I have no way done justice to that, it was lovely football. Really high quality. Deserved a goal. Late substitutions. Kieran Oliver on for Jack Harris and Sam Bewick on for Charley Robertson. We concede a late free-kick in a dangerous postion down our left. Decent delivery and it's nodded home at the back stick. So a nervy last few minutes. Well, no not really. We see it home comfortably. A fine away win.
So, naturally, reasons to be cheerful:
a) an away win at T&M. This is a fine result. b) not at our best first half-but we stay in the game-important quality number 1. c) at our best in the second half-we blow the opposition away 3 goals in 10 minutes- important quality number 2 d) important quality 1 + 2. You win away at T&M. I'll take that. e) a fab day out. And good company. See you all at Horsham. COYW

Superb filming once again CJK. Those were three goals that each displayed real class. The timing of the pass and run for the first; the skill and strength of the header for the second; and the combination work and finish of the third all merit a place in a training video demonstrating just how it should be done. And as for those sunsets...surely a cinematography Oscar can't be far away!

Cheers Mark. Good guess FAV, but the reason for the quick upload was because of an early start on Sunday to collect the in-laws from Barnsley for Christmas. Just arrived at Peterborough Services (7.30am) for breakfast!
