On this, a little report/review is available from
t.co/tm75QKGziELike Shoutymark has already said, what a fantastic start to the season!
So, with 49 points from our first 23 games, what can we expect from the second 23?
It would be great to replicate the same points total and end on a huge 98 points, which would be a great achievement in it's own right.
There is an argument we have played some of the toughest opposition in the league already.
We have played Folkestone (home and away) and Merstham, Burgess Hill and Whyteleafe (away).
But, it would be really naive to suggest there are easy games in this league.
That said, if we keep playing the way we have been, I see absolutely no reason why we can't get around the 100 point mark by the end of the season!
51 points is equal to either 15 wins, 6 draws and 2 defeats or 16 wins, 3 draws and 4 losses from our remaining games.
I'm under no illusion how difficult that will be to get.
However, quite frankly, I believe anything is possible with the quality (and as Shoutymark has mentioned the loyalty/size) of the squad we currently possess.
Additionally, I never heard of a team that ended a season with around 100 points that was never in the title race.
Saturday is a big game against Merstham and Burgess Hill... well, they have been incredible so far - there is no other word for it.
But, they may find - even after they have caught up on games in hand - there reward for an incredible start is only a slender lead over us in the league table!
Forget games in hand etc for a moment...
To think, the only side (as far as I'm aware) still unbeaten in their league within the English footballing pyramid is behind us in the table, is quite remarkable really!
So, a great start to the campaign, a great place to be and hopefully some more great memories, before the end of the season.
As M has mentioned, any more volunteers - even for a few hours every now and then - would be very welcome.
See you Saturday.
FAV Army!
