Three big games in Kent tonight.
If the pitch is ok, Merstham visit Herne Bay knowing that if they win, they will be top of the league. Folkestone host Worthing and Burgess Hill visit Ramsgate too. Praying for some dropped points from our competitors. A chance for our spies to get out and about though - at least their raincoats won't look too out of place!

Folkestone won 2-1.
Burgess Hill and Merstham both have kick-off delayed by around an hour for traffic on the M2.
Herne Bay and Merstham 0-0 after 89 minutes - Merstham down to nine men!
That kicked-off at 8.30, Burgess Hill kicked-off at 8.40.
They were 2-0 up but Ramsgate have pulled a goal back.
Still, around 20 minutes left at that one apparently.

Herne Bay had a one-man advantage ever since the 10th minute according to Twitter and a two-man advantage for final 10.
They have finally got the break through in the final minute of normal time but Merstham strike back quickly after, 1-1 full-time!
A good result for us, keeps us top - and both Herne Bay/Merstham are behind us - having played more games.
Plus, we stay top of the league!

Full-times:
Folkestone 2-1 Worthing. Herne Bay 1-1 Merstham. Ramsgate 1-2 Burgess Hill.
So, we stay top for over a month (we moved top on November 4).
But, Burgess Hill are closing in on us massively - question is, how well will they use their rest of the games in hand?
Would be good to extend our stay at the top a little longer with a win on Saturday.
Would at least put some pressure on Burgess Hill.

So, here we go again ...
... Chipstead vs Burgess Hill and Sittingbourne vs Merstham.
Tonight, surely one or both of our competitors will overtake us in the league by winning the required three points.
Excellent summary of the half time team talk elsewhere on the forum / blog on where we are and could be by April. However, short term, whatever happens tonight, a FTFC win against Merstham on Saturday would put us ahead of them on points again with games in hand. It would also mean being above Burgess Hill too for at least a while as they continue to play in the FA trophy that day.
Hopefully, the other fixture this evening, Herne Bay vs Whyteleafe will simply be of interest to us rather than an ongoing concern regarding play off places.
