Looking forward to tomorrow, should be a good game (both teams currently top of their league). Sounds like Margate are keen to progress but will have a trialist goalkeeper on their website. We certainly have the quality going forward to give him a good work out and try to expose any potential weaknesses See you then. FAV Army!

Had some spare time this afternoon and broke into massive nerd mode (again!) Here are our competitive goal scoring records broken down from this season so far: We have played 27 competitive fixtures for 61 goals (an average of 2.26 goals per game). We have played 20 Ryman South League matches for 51 goals (an average of 2.55 goals per game). We have played 7 competitive Cup fixtures for 10 goals (an average of 1.42 goals per game). Interesting that we have scored a lot less goals per match in the cups - but we have played Dover, Maidenhead and Leatherhead this season. Anyway, I'm sure we will sort that out tonight (10 goals would bring our goals per game ratio up to par with the league goals per game ratio. I will settle for that tonight ) Therefore, my prediction for tonight is: Margate 0 Faversham Town 10 (Wilson 3,43 & 65, Grant 1,20,33 & 90+1, Scarborough 60, Sherlock 79 and Overland (pen) 90+5 FAV Army!!

Margate 3 Faversham Town 1
Good performance in spite of the loss.
Their keeper was voted man-of-the-match, which says a lot about how well we played.
We took the lead on 12 minutes through a brilliant goal from Oliver, who was absolutely excellent.
According to the locals, a group of Margate players - who were sharing a car down to the ground - broke down.
So, it was quite a makeshift Margate defence after they failed to turn up with a striker at left-back and so on!
Even after all the rain, they were keen to play out from defence.
That gave Harris two good chances.
Unfortunately, the goalie made a save from the first one on one and grew in confidence after that following a nervy start.
They then equalised through a penalty - I'm still not convinced.
A corner was cleared up in the air, and as Maxted went to clear the loose ball, he ran into a striker.
To the letter of the law that probably is a penalty, although, there is bound to be some contact in a crowded penalty box.
Like I say, not convinced but I'll let the ref off that one, as he had a good Anyway, this gave Margate a route back into the game and started the second half well.
But, their second goal was as lucky as their first.
A young striker tried to take control of a low cross, and after all the places the ball could have gone, it flew onto the bottom corner.
Their goalkeeper made a couple of decent stops - one where Harris leathered the ball, unfortunately straight at the keeper.
But, they looked the more likely to score a third and did towards the end.
