Ok - it's that time of year once again..
Time to choose the 2015-16 Faversham Town GOAL OF THE SEASON
So here are ten which form an initial shortlist. All featuring different players. And yes, there are some great players & great goals missing no doubt. By all means suggest other different ones. Whatever was your favourite.
And post your thoughts & choice of Goal of the Season on this Forum.
Like the awarding of the FIFA World Cup, there's not much science involved in this, nor democracy either. In the absence of Thomas organising a proper Poll, you just get to look at some really great goals to choose from, and somehow we get to one winner. Probably decided in the bar...
So here's a starter for ten....
Dean Grant v Worthing (August) www.youtube.com/watch?v=XcIfqg77dOQ 2:05 Lone striker beats defender & fine finish on first trip to Worthing's 3G pitch
George Monger v Whtstable (August) www.youtube.com/watch?v=GKqxqGjcZ10 3:00 30 yard piledriver (with deflection). Takes us to penalties in Cup
Stuart King v Dorking (October) www.youtube.com/watch?v=3cX9WpymXdM 0:45 Curler across face of goal to break goal drought
Charley Robertson v Folkestone (October) www.youtube.com/watch?v=RNpwMielsOw 2:45 Composed finish to knock league leaders out of Cup
Luke Harvey v Sittingbourne (March) www.youtube.com/watch?v=ou6DYgGTalQ 2:30 Battling run & finish typifying our season
Will Godmon v Chipstead (March) www.youtube.com/watch?v=XrL-FnFFglQ 5.40 Lofted free kick from inside own half is floated in by the Keeper to win the 3 points
Renford Tenuye v South Park (March) www.youtube.com/watch?v=wMD7muI6gK8 3:40 Superbly placed curler from way out on the byline finds the top corner
John Scarborough v Hastings (March) www.youtube.com/watch?v=MZCYlGy82RY 0:50 Majestically placed header - unstoppable
Josh Stanford v Tooting & Mitcham (March) youtu.be/eBcN6OhEBEQ 2:40 Receive, control, shimmy & score from the edge of the box
Kieran Campbell v Walton Casuals (April) (not captured on video) 30 yard screamer from the exciting youngster makes it 7-0
Let's be hearing from you!!

One special goal not to be forgotten so must be included on the list is:
George Monger vs Whyteleafe 31st October 2015:
It was away fixture and no video taken either so at a disadvantage in this poll.
Therefore, I've stolen from Dave's review at the time to give it a flavour. However, no words can adequately describe this one! "Left hand side, George Monger in possession, highish ball played into Daniel Carrington, how to describe the return ball to find George Mongers' run into the area, high back heel, flicked loop, I don't know, but unorthodox and utterly brilliant. Still plenty to do, but the necessary is duly done as George Monger unleashes an unstoppable shot into the top left hand corner. Fantastic move. Fantastic strke. Fantastic goal. 0-2"
It was also a game played when we were 15th in the table and represented the start of the long climb pushing for the play offs which will now go right to the very last day.

Some more fantastic goals this season!
Some very strong candidates in there.
I would have thought George's goal against Whitstable and, of course, Will's against Chipstead are the early front-runners.
But there are definitely some under-rated goals in that list again, which might be good outside bets.
Dean's goal at Worthing was superb simply because it was the only option on.
And it's difficult to describe the build-up play for George's goal against Whyteleafe - it was just a move that displayed the quality of our young players!
Unfortunately, I can't comment on any of the goals last week.
Hopefully, there are still a few goals more to come in our final games.

Here’s the initial shortlist goals (that we have footage of) on one video . . . youtu.be/d3AJTlg90ncI’ve also added Stuart King’s free kick at Molesey. If you'd like a goal added (that we have on video) then post an entry on the Forum.

Another one for consideration. Liam King's last minute winner at Guernsey. Great goal to cap a fine team performance. You can see it here. You'll need to register. No cost. www.guernseyfc.tv/Highlights8:10

Well I can't see the results on the poll site. So, well done for keeping it secret and exciting!
But then again I couldn’t see how our second goal at East Grinstead yesterday could be chalked off for offside.
I suspect that the final decision will be a combination of results of the online poll plus an assessment of the swell of opinion proffered on the terraces, stands and tearoom queues next Saturday. (Including votes for those special goals not captured on film but that linger on in the memory of the witness...)
So everything still to play for.
Make your views known by leaving comments here, by voting in the poll on allthingslilywhite, or by collaring someone on the halfway line (or in the bar) on Saturday.

Fine collection of goals and brings back memories of some wonderful moments and performances we've had this season.
In the end ... which ones are going to be remembered in five years time to represent 2015/16?
My verdict:
1 Will Godman vs Chipstead - Special goal from a class goalkeeper + vital last minute winner
2 George Monger vs Whyteleafe - Skillful and improvised one - two from a couple of our best young players (assist by Dan Carrington) and a powerful yet controlled shot. Of course, George has a habit of scoring well struck goals from outside the penalty area too as typified by the Whitstable league cup one which ultimately helped us towards this year's cup final.

In a decisive, yet fairly unexpected, outcome, the Winner of the Favesham Town FC Goal Of The Season 2015-16 (sponsored by the Halfwayline Shoutymen - and women) is........ Mr Kieron Campbell.
With his outstanding seventh goal against Walton Casuals.
Bang.
Blimey!
Congratulations Kieron!
