On a more serious note, after Wednesday's performance, and what a great team performance it was. Away, midweek, small crowd, against a team really needing the win, we produce a performance from the top drawer. It was a pleasure to be there and witness it. Really looking forward to the game at W&H tomorrow. 3 points would put us in a very decent position.

Full-time score: Walton and Hersham 0 Faversham Town 1 (Tenyue 13).
Another good win!
Nice to see Dean Grant back, as well.
Interestingly, it looks like Worthing have been roped back into the Play-off pack somewhat after they lost to Folkestone.
An absolutely vital game next Saturday against Hastings United!
A win for us and there is loads of pressure on Hastings' games in hand.
But a defeat and Hastings would be level with us, with games in hand.
But hopefully we will have Luke Harvey back for that and we can pick up another good result.

Walton & Hersham 0-1 Faversham Town
Starting line up:
William Godmon, Ryan Cooper, Jamie Maxted, Matthew Bourne, John Scarborough, Josh Stanford, Daniel Carrington, George Monger, Charley Robertson, Renford Tenyue, Liam King.
In hindsight, a comfortable victory. W&H rarely threatened and we had plenty of chances. But hindsight is a wonderful thing. Pitchside, at 0-1 and without hindsight, the chances to kill the game come and go. And as they do, W&H start to believe that perhaps there's something in the game for them. So, perhaps more anxious than we would have wanted. But the cold facts say, job done. 3 more points, a clean sheet and 3 wins on the bounce. We'll take that all day long.
A bit more background. Today, difficult pitch, in a large arena occupied by a mere 90 souls. Add to that the athletics track around the pitch-so not the most vibrant of atmospheres.
Good start from us. A Charley Robertson free-kick, from the left, into the area, comes back off the defence, out to Matthew Bourne inside the area, afforded plenty of space, shoots but wide of the right hand post. On 13, Liam King is put through, into the area, clumsy challenge by the defence, Liam is brought down, penalty?. Not given, probably correct decision, that would have been harsh. But, outside of the area, picked up by Daniel Carrington, great run into the area, gets to the byline, left, puts the ball into the right area, and Renford Tenyue slams it home from close range. 0-1. Charley Robertson's dinked ball into the area finds Renford Tenyue, left of goal. Zigzags round his man and shoots, keeper saves. Still in the W&H half, Josh Stanford challenges for the ball, the ricochet goes our way, Josh drives in on goal, keeper comes, but the lob/shot is passed the right hand post. Close. A defence splitting pass from our half by Daniel Carrington, releases Liam King, Liam gets a shot away, keeper saves, ball bobbles wide of the left hand post.
0-1 at H-T
Early doors second half, and a Ryan Cooper throw from the left, ultimately finds it way to Renford Tenyue (apologies missed some of the build up), slammed home, we're up cheering, but the lino's flag halts proceedings. Offside. Renford Tenyue again gets down the left, great cross in, Josh Stanford is stretching for it, just beaten by the defender, corner. With 67 on the clock, a substitution, the returning Dean Grant is on for Josh Stanford. And straight into the action. A long ball out of defence, Dean Grant has half a yard on his man, heads it forward, but the ball is bouncing awkwardly, gets the shot away, saved by the keeper for a corner. Immediately after, another attack, Renford Tenyue out left, cuts inside his man, shoots, keeper saves low, Another corner. Charley Robertson is fouled by the right touchline. George Monger's deep free-kick, Jamie Maxted nods wide at the back stick. Renford Tenyue again gets down the left, escapes the attempted tackle, to the byline, cross to the far post, Charley Robertson smashes it goalwards, keeper makes a great save. Incredibly it goes for a throw-in. Again, left with Renford, great cross into the box, Dean Grant seems to be hanging in the air waiting, heads across goal, but wide. Great chance. So, if games were won on chances, we'd be out of sight. And, if I've misled you into thinking this has been an easy game, apologies. W&H have shown plenty of endeavour and made us work hard for our lead. But, despite their endeavour, no real threat on our goal. Until a few minutes to go. We concede a free-kick 35/40 yards out. So, a nervy moment. A great strike, arrowing just under the bar, but our keeper gets up to tip it over the bar. Great, great stop. Nothing to do all game and then pulls a save like that off. Fantastic. And for good measure gets a decisive punch with distance to clear the corner. Ashley Brown is a late substitute for Liam King.
0-1 at F-T.
Reasons to be cheerful:
a) opponents fighting for their R1S lives, with a new manager in place. These can be tough. And so it proved. But, job done. b) still very much in this play-off fight - and isn't it damned exciting. c) Play-off rivals Hastings at Salters Lane next Saturday. A real humdinger of a game to look forward to.
Great result today. COYW.

I have to confess a certain sympathy for the plight of W&H. Well, more specifically for one particular W&H supporter. Because, amongst their ranks, W&H have their very own ShoutyMan. A lone Shouty voice in a sea of non-Shoutyness.
Leafing through yesterday's match day programme, the players' stats pages caught my eye. Comprising fully 2 pages, during 2015/16 season W&H have used 72 players to date. Almost as many as were in the crowd yesterday. An unreal turnover. I'm certainly no expert, but does this go some way to explaining their current predicament?
Against the odds, I hope Mr. W&H ShoutyMan can shout his team to safety. He deserves it.

And you can hear him clearly when Ren scores the second: "You thought you had scored - You were wrong..." As it turns out, the video shows that actually we should have been right. But all credit to the lone voice in the crowd. If you don't shout, they ain't gonna hear you...
