David would like thank the management committee and players and especially the supporters for a great six years at a great club and all the great support he received he felt it was time to move on as the bench is no place for a player he wishes everyone good luck for the future and he will miss the halfway shouty men's great support once again thanks

As a member of the HLSM I'd like to thank David for his significant role in the past six glorious years he has spent with FTFC. This has included being part of the double winning squad in 2009 / 10 (with Ashley Brown) and almost certainly being in our all time top three list of appearances in the Ryman league (possibly top?). The HLSM have sponsored you for the past couple of seasons for a combination of reasons. Amongst them being your great talent, spirit plus dedication to the club for such a long period. Inevitably, there comes a time for everybody has to move on and I wish you well in your future footballing career (except 23rd April of course!) Thank you David

As another of the HLSM I am sorry to see Botts go. It is always disappointing to see quality players leave the club particularly after years of loyal service. A great character sure to missed. All the best Botts and thanks for all the good times.

Departure of one of the good 'uns. Always committed. Reliable, but never predictable. Assured, stable, calming, but never more than a few seconds away from a gentle knee in the thigh as a reminder not to mess! And the source of some great goals over the years. Here's one as a memento. Taken in true Botts style. Against...err...Hythe as it happens! www.youtube.com/watch?v=4RrtTU-4NTc

And a couple more for good measure! www.youtube.com/watch?v=WVf3lppRZowAway in the enchanting surrounds of an industrial estate in the arse-end of the back of beyond, Faversham Town FC visit Sittingbourne. Yet again, Botts steps up for freekick on the edge of the box... www.youtube.com/watch?v=ataPLcdCFykShepherd Neame Stadium, Salters Lane. Easter Saturday. 8 minutes in. A free kick a few yards outside of the box. Number 11 Dave Botterill steps up to the mark. Narrowly missing the floodlight pilon that seems to block his path, Botts manages to shoot straight through the mass of players, direct into the net. One-Nil Faversham! www.youtube.com/watch?v=89kS_6fn0qU

What a shame this is. Really sorry to see David Botterill leave Salters Lane. Gary sums it up. Quality player, years of loyal service. What more can you ask?
Even in his final game, a decisive touch in the lead up to our goal against Cor-Cas. Spraying the ball about. A player in control. Fantastic.
I think we're losing a quality player with FTFC in his heart. And that's a real shame.
So to finish, best of luck David, a top player for FTFC. Fantastic memories. You will be missed.
