So, after some minor confusion earlier this week, we are now set to be the first team to play on Worthing's new 3G pitch.
It's important to return to winning ways after Tuesday's controversy.
Hopefully, Worthing take a little while to get used to their new pitch and we can take advantage.
See you tomorrow.

Worthing 0-1 Faversham Towm
Starting line up:
Rob French, Ryan Cooper, Jamie Maxted, Matt Bourne, John Scarborough, Charley Robertson, George Monger, Wayne Wilson, Dave Botterill, Stuart King, Dean Grant.
A 180 mile round trip. So, very satisfying to come back with the 3 points. So how did we gain these 3 points, away from home, against what turned out to be a decent Worthing side?
Worthing can claim to have had the better of the chances in the first 30. A trio of good chances. An attack down their right, the ball slid dangerously across the goal, but no forward to apply a touch. Their 7, gets into the box, shoots, but Rob French makes a smart left-handed save at the near post. From the corner, Worthing fashion a shot from outside the box, Rob French palms it over. Good save. Then on 39, Jamie Maxted wins the ball just outside our box, finds George Monger, who sweeps a ball for Dean Grant on the left. Still plenty to do, Dean carries and then from wide, just outside the box, shoots low and hard, across the keeper and into the far corner. A real grass cutter (how ironic is that). The ball does a celebratory jump into the roof of the net. A really fine, fine goal.
Second half, and well, my notepad hasn't registered too many chances. Rob French is called on to make a cracking save to his right early on. Our best chance of the half comes after Charley Robertson finds Dean Grant on the right, a looped ball into the path of Stuart King and the volley is well saved by their keeper. Renford Tenyue is on for Dave Botterill on 70.
So, yes, fairly brief, but the answer to my previous question is only partially answered in the above in that we scored a cracking goal. So what's missing from the above. The teamwork, the organisation, our shape. Really top drawer. It was one of those days for grinding out a result. And we did that very well indeed. We were/are extremely difficult to break down. Please don't read into this that this was any way dull, because it wasn't. It was a damned good game. Intriguing, if you like. And we played the right game for the day. A fine away performance.
Of course, reasons to be cheerful: a) another strong team performance against decent opposition b) a clean sheet to boot c) we didn't have the ref that we had on Tuesday. Ergo, Dean Grant's second perfectly legitimate goal stands.
To my utter disbelief, I'm getting into this MOM stuff. Many candidates again. But today, for me, Matt Bourne. Always in the right place at the right time.
Time to crack open another celebratory beer methinks. Cheers. See you Tuesday at Whitstable.

I spend a lot of my weekends in the vicinity of Worthing, courtesy of Mrs Shouty's family home turf, but this must count as one of the more enjoyable trips to the south coast. (No disrespect, etc. ) Once my eyes adjusted to the vibrancy of the colour scheme, and I managed to stop getting Matrix flashbacks from the bounce of the ball on the pitch, it became a simple task of enjoying watching the mighty whites playing a pleasing ball to feet game and absorbing the pressure from a creditable Rebel side. (And oh how I wish we had such a cred nickname! ) But push come to shove, & sometimes it did, we were the better team, and we scored one more than them. I shall doubtless be back in the vicinity next weekend. But I doubt with such a smiley outcome. COYW!

Oh. And to rub a little bit of salt in the wound, our exalted Chairman Ray won the Golden Goal competition too!
