Hi all,
Just want to take the opportunity to start (and keep updated!) a thread for our team.
We are a reasonably successful side at this level, finishing third last season in the Kent youth league, and currently top after 4 games this season, The team and management ethos is to create an environment where players can express themselves, whilst playing to their maximum capacity.
There is a squad of 16 players who all make a contribution over the season, playing in a variety of positions to aid their development, with a number of local boys in this set up.
Will do my best to keep this updated weekly!
Paul Gates (manager)

No problem!
A difficult game to get the ball down and play in a strong wind, but we stuck to it, playing some attractive & effective football to run out comfortable winners.
We are indeed away to Thamesmead in the Kent Cup and looking forward to playing on their 4G pitch @ 3pm.

Just an update on how the youth sides got on today.
The under-18s and under-16s both were postponed.
But, the u15s won 2-1 at home (apparently, on the Abbey School's 3G pitch) to Folkestone Invicta (Matt Doria X 2) and the u14s progressed in the Kent County Cup with a 3-2 victory away at Horsted.
A special mention to the under-14 team, who pulled off a great result today after a tough start to the season - excellent for the lads to get a win and some confidence.
FAV Army!

The u15s continued their strong start to the season with a 3-0 win over Kennington @ Abbey school 3G. Despite missing the regular keeper (who is on trial at Millwall), and with 2 other key players unavailable the 11 men put in their best performance of the season playing some neat incisive football in difficult conditions. 3 goals in a 15 min second half spell was enough to see off the Ashford outfit, and maintain top spot in the KYL South.
Scorers:- Harrison Taylor, Harry Beare & Danny Perrier.

U15s 2-1 Margate-
Another great performance by the lads put paid to an excellent thanet side, with only one previous defeat to their name. Both sides were committed to open, flowing football on the Abbey 3G pitch, with a fantastic one and two touch move opening up Margate midway through the first half for Harrison Taylor to grab his 7th of the season.
With a number of Kent players in their ranks, Margate were looking to counter with the pace of Billy Lewins who drew the Seasiders level midway through the second half after a town corner was cleared high up the pitch. With the game poised, Harry Beare stepped up to drive home a 25 yard free kick and leave the Lilywhites to hold out the last 10 mins as Gate desperately searched for an equalizer.
Scorers:- Harrison Taylor, Harry Beare.

U15s 2-0 Hollands & Blair
Top v bottom was always a potential banana skin for the boys, but after a forgettable first half for the Lilywhites teens they outclassed their lowly opponents. Second half strikes by Jamie Sherlock direct from a corner, and Harrison Taylor with a header see the boys reach the halfway mark of the season undefeated.
Big test next week at Ramsgate, who like the Lilywhites are the only other undefeated side in the league.

After slipping to a narrow defeat to Ramsgate before Christmas, the young Lilywhites returned to league action in a local derby with Faversham Strikeforce. Town took the lead through centre back Tom Gates header from a corner, and despite dominating possession, They were pegged back at half time by a wind assisted free kick that failed to be dealt with. Midway through the second half a controversial decision by the ref allowed Strikeforce to gain the lead; a shot from distance deemed to have crossed the line after hitting the underside of the bar. This galvanized Town into a period of sustained pressure for the last 20 mins, carving out a number of clear chances, but failing to capitalize. With the ref indicating 1 min remaining, the Lilywhites laid siege to the force goal, equalizing through Harri Taylor. Direct from the resulting centre, Town showed great desire to win the ball and immediately break through the defense for Taylor to grab the winning goal with seconds to spare! A fantastic late show to maintain the Lilywhites position as leaders of KYL south.

Town headed over to Central Park, Siitingbourne to take on a Bredhurst side who had scored 37 goals in their last 6 games and viewed as one of the teams vying for the title along with Ramsgate and the young Lillywhites. The boys were on the back foot for the first 10 mins with Bredhurst squandering 2 good chances, one hitting the face of the bar. This proved to be the wake up call Town needed and they went on to dominate possession and territory for the next 30 mins carving out some half chances without hitting the target. The second half was a hugely competitve affair, with neither team giving an inch to each other, and Bredhurst yet again hitting the bar from long range. With 10 mins remaining, a town corner was bundled home by Harrison Taylor to take the lead. As the Lilywhites hunted for a second, Bredhurst broke away and the on rushing Louie Catherall handled outside the box to give them a free kick which was smashed home with 3 mins left to play. Both teams went for the winner, but had to be content with the draw.
