After a few weeks off due to fixture clashes, Faversham Town Under 18's emphatically went back to winning ways with a 5-0 win against 2nd in the league Dover Athletic.
Dover who beat Town 2-0 just over a month ago and had only been beaten once this year, were outplayed by a great team effort which was undoubtedly the Under 18's best performance of the season.
A well taken first half goal from Jay Kitto after a mazy run from Loius Wilkins set the scene and took Town 1-0 up at half time. With Dover looking for an equalizer, Town took control and were awarded a penalty with Wilkins being brought down on the edge of the area. He calmly slotted the ball past the keeper to make the score 2-0. This instilled confidence into Town and further pressure was rewarded with a brilliant chip over the keeper from John Brown after a killer pass from Liam Sparks.
Town were unlucky not to score sooner but with 10 minutes to go a cross from Sparks was met by Jake Salthouse who had made a run to the back post and powered his shot past a helpless keeper. To finish off the match, Liam Sparks who with 2 assists, latched onto a through ball from Brown and passed the ball into the far corner of the net.
A brilliant performance by the team and a well earned clean sheet for Dan Smith who made 2 outstanding saves.
Well done the Town Under 18's.
Next week away to Bearsted who are unbeaten this year.................
