Hi All,
I thought I should let you know nice and early that I will not be around to do the regular reports on either Saturday 4th April (home to Tooting & Mitcham) or Saturday 11th April (home to Horsham)!
I will try to sort something out this Saturday in terms of reports for those two games, but because I won't be doing them, I kind of expect they won't be as long as normal and will be just the one paragraph-long (but if you are prepared to more, please feel free to do so).
However, as with all Saturday afternoon home games, I send the first paragraph of my match reports (they ask for around 120 words with a Man-of-the-Match and match rating out of five) to the Non-League Paper by 6pm on Saturday for publication in the NLP on the Sunday morning.
I am currently trying to get hold of the NLP to let them know I will not be there and trying to seek an alternative arrangement.
Because I will not be around if anybody would be interested, or knows someone interested, in covering for me (and getting their reports published in a national newspaper and the website, blog etc) over those matches I would be very grateful!
Hopefully, if somebody does cover for me, YOUR name will appear in the Non-League Paper but somebody has covered for me before and they still used my name - that's why I am trying to contact them now.
I am missing the Tooting fixture through another commitment but I am actually going on a University tour when I miss the Horsham match.
Therefore, I will try to update the website as and when I can, but I might not be able to because I am out of the country.
So, if the website isn't being updated, please look on allthingslilywhite.wordpress.com , twitter.com/FavershamTownFC and twitter.com/favershamscores for details, score updates etc.
Although I do update the website, I don't consider myself to be particularly tech-savvy - therefore, if I can't sign-in to the programme needed to update the website for whatever reason, I won't be able to update the website when I am on tour.
However I am sure I will have Wi-Fi, so updating all other means as and when I can, shouldn't be a problem!
I also finish my university degree in May and currently don't really know what I was be doing afterwards.
If all of a sudden a job opportunity presents itself in Manchester for example, that might be something I have to at least consider.
So, if you think you may be interested in helping the club out, please feel free to have a go at reporting over these two games to have a feeler for what it is like!
If you are interested, or know someone who is, please email me at thomas@4reeves.com.
I should also point out that I will still be there this Saturday, Bank Holiday Monday at Sittingbourne, the Under-21 match at home next Thursday - and hopefully - the Kent Intermediate Cup Final (although that is the day before I go away on tour, so I'm not 100% on that one yet).
See you Saturday.
