I think we need to put Saturday behind us ASAP.
So, I've just been looking at the Ryman League Table and (I think!) we can mathematically secure our play-off place with a victory this weekend.
The teams between first and fifth are not really relevant for this, so below I have put 6th to 10th realistically looking to finish fifth - in the chasing pack:
Faversham Town - 38 games played, 80 points gathered and a maximum points total of 104. League Position - 2nd.
Herne Bay - 40 games played, 61 points gathered and a maximum points total of 79. League Position - 6th.
Whitstable Town - 39 games played, 60 points gathered and a maximum points total of 81. League Position - 7th.
Worthing - 38 games played, 59 points gathered and a maximum points total of 83. League Position - 8th.
Three Bridges - 38 games played, 55 points gathered and a maximum points total of 79. League Position - 9th.
Guernsey - 38 games played, 52 points gathered and a maximum points total of 76. League Position - 10th.
Only two of the chasing pack, in Whitstable and Worthing, can reach our current points tally of 80!
Of course, three points on Saturday will bring us up to 83 and will take our dear neighbours out the equation.
So, all we are looking for on Saturday is a victory and a Worthing loss - but hold on!
Worthing are at home to Folkestone.
In that case, we'll take a Faversham win and a draw.
Fingers crossed!

I think failing a complete and utter break down Faversham will secure their play off spot sooner rather than later.
This might seem like an odd thing to say, but would the club financially be better off losing in the play off final and staying in this division?
(Don't shoot me for saying that, please!)

Good summary but one extra dimension is the combination of fixtures still remaining. For example, tomorrow, Wednesday 18th March Burgess Hill vs Whyteleafe. Either BH lose their first league match of the season or leafe's maximum pointage will drop to 84 / 85. Leafe will be playing at home to Carshalton on Saturday so anything less than a win (& no win at BH!!) would take them to a max of 83. It is also worth noting that Worthing play Leafe on 18th April and as both can't win, at least ONE of them will drop points bringing their max to sub 83. Conclusion: Unless Leafe win tomorrow, a Faversham win at W&H would guarantee top 5 irrespective of any other results.

Blimey - Burgess Hill LOST! Their incredible season-long unbeaten run is over. Unfortunately, the winners were Whyteleafe who have now beaten 2nd & 1st in the space of 5 days.
But it just adds to the spice of the next few weeks.
