Ok, so lots of games this season have been labelled 'big', 'huge', 'important' and 'massive' - but this one really is!
There is no doubting, we have been in a bad patch of late in an excellent season to date (although, it is worth noting the performances haven't dipped too much recently).
The last few results probably have killed any realistic chance we had of overtaking Burgess Hill and winning the league this season.
But, we will have to get back to winning ways, starting around about now, if we are to stay in pole position for second place and a home tie(s) in the play-offs!
Again, we are playing a side closer to the bottom of the table than the top.
This means:
a) They will be looking to set down a marker for the rest of their season.
b) Will put no pressure on themselves for this particular match.
c) Will fight for anything and everything they can possibly get.
I think Dean coming back will be really good for us - his work rate and desire up front usually means he creates just as many chances as he takes!
Again though, we are going to have show a lot of character with the squad tested because Willo and Botts will both be big misses for us!
Time to get back on track.
See you there.
FAV Army!

True words spoken, Mr Army. Big, big game. But one that is so very much ours to take. We have demonstrated real class throughout this season. Even in the recent games where we've ended up the wrong side of the result, the performance has been strong.
It's up to those of us who stand on the edge of the pitch to make our presence known on Saturday, and to ensure that those in the White shirts in the middle of the pitch know we are right behind them. From start to finish.
Burgess Hill dropped points midweek. Don't write anything off quite yet.
COME ON YOU WHITES!

And to add my tuppence worth to Mr. Army's and Mr. ShoutyMarks' comments.
Well, as it happens, I've nothing to add. Just agree wholeheartedly with the previous posts. So, Salters Lane tomorrow, see you there. From start to finish. COYW.

Faversham Town 3-0 East Grinstead
Starting line up:
Rob French, Jack Sullivan, Jamie Maxted, Ashley Brown, Matt Bourne, Charley Robertson, George Monger, Aidan Sherlock, Josh Stanford, Jack Harris, Dean Grant.
A result to be applauded I feel. Coming off of back to back defeats, to then meet a team fighting for their continued R1S status. A potentially troublesome tie. But in the end, 3-0 was a fair reflection. Job very well done.
No goalmouth action of note to report in the first 15. East Grinstead were neat and tidy, but weren't causing us any problems. Having said that we hadn't caused them too many either. So a bit of sparring going on. On 16, East Grinstead's first meaningful attack. They get a shot on goal, from just outside of the area, central, but it lacks power and Rob French makes a comfortable save. From said save, our first meaningful attack, Rob French launches a kick well into East Grinstead's half, Dean Grant's looped pass is into the path of Charley Robertson's run. Charley calmly puts it passed the oncoming keeper's left. Nice finish. 1-0. An attack down our left, Jamie Maxted delivers a fine ball into the box, Dean Grant, far post, places the header back across the goal and in. Our celebrations are cut short by the lino's flag. Offside. An attack down our right. Dean Grant finds Jack Sullivan, via a deflection off of a defender, Jack gets into the box. Brought down. Penalty. Keeper dives to his right and saves Jack Harris' penalty. With minutes of the half to go, we concede a free-kick on the edge of the D. This is dangerous. The wall does it's job and we launch a counter, Charley Robertson crosses from the left, Josh Stanford's header is saved by the keeper. 1-0 at H-T.
We start the half with a great move. Jamie Maxted drives forward down the left, cuts inside, plays in Jack Harris, Jack turns and plays in Josh Stanford. A great move and Josh's subsequent strike is negated by the lino's flag. Offside. And then strangely, after a really decent start, we seem to switch off and nearly let East Grinstead in. A free-kick from their left, really good delivery, causes us problems, but Matt Bourne makes a fantastic defensive header to clear our lines. Top defending. Corner to East Grinstead. East Grinstead attack down their right, a deep cross to the back stick, the header across goal hits the post. Sharp intakes of breath all round. Matt Bourne clears the rebound. The narrow escape, seems to kick start us. Josh Stanford intercepts a poorly taken East Grinstead free-kick, runs at and through their defence, fashions a shooting chance, edge of the box, beats the keeper, but just beats the right hand post. T'would've have been a great goal. With 20 to go Renford Tenyue is on for Jack Harris. We continue to press, Josh Stanford again drives for the jugular, this time brought down. Free-kick. Just outside of the D, slightly to the right. Josh takes and unleashes a quality free-kick. Top corner, curling away from the keeper. Quality, quality goal. 2-0. Dare I say it, straight out of the "Wayne Wilson Bumper Book of Free-kicks" (available for purchase at the clubhouse). Well it seems I did dare to say it. And then on 83 we find another quality goal. Jamie Maxted's fine ball finds Renford Tenyue on the left wing. Renford has company, but bides his time, waits for the right moment and then delivers an exquisite cross to the back stick. Dean Grant does full justice to the cross and buries the header. Lovely. 3-0. We nearly add a late fourth when Charley Robertson gets on the end of a Dean Grant low delivery across the box. But, just wide.
To repeat from the intro. Job very well done.
So reasons to be cheerful:
a) of course, 3 points. b) the quality of the goals. Top notch. c) a clean sheet. But not only that. EG had very few chances. A fine defensive effort. d) all round good day. Fab.
I didn't hear the sponsors' MOM, so I believe the rules are that, that gives me carte blanche to nominate (well, in my head anyway).
For me, today, Josh Stanford. Made the difference when we really needed that second goal.

Thank you again Dave and CJK.
Just would like to point out something else I noticed yesterday:
Faversham Town vs East Grinstead Town - attendance: 203.
Ramsgate vs Herne Bay - attendance: 182.
Whitstable Town vs Sittingbourne - attendance: 219.
I really think this shows how much our home support has improved of late because you would assume a lot more Sittingbourne fans made the trip to Whitstable and Herne Bay supporters made the trip to Ramsgate, than East Grinstead supporters did to our ground yesterday!
Let's keep getting behind the side between now and the end of the season.
FAV Army!!
