Yeah. I know it's only a run of the mill. Ordinary. No frills. No fuss. Take it easy. Sort of Saturday afternoon.
Big breakfast. Papers. Bit of Soccer AM. Down the clubhouse (Happy hour 1 till 2...) 2.40pm - emerge, blinking into the brilliant sunshine 2.50pm - the dulcet tones of Joe introduces the lineups over the crystal clear tannoy. 2.55pm - the teams stand - shoulder to shoulder 2.59pm - the toss of the coin. 2.59 & 59 seconds - Deep breath.....
COME ON YOU WHITES!
Yeah. Just another ordinary Saturday really...

Noisiest 90 minutes I've endured in many a long time. All credit to the Oysterboys for their constant and unrelenting vocal support. But at the end of the day we scored two and they scored one. A cracking and oh so important result. That keeps us within grasping distance of the playoffs. A hugely competitive game - played in the right spirit, on and off the pitch.
My ears hurt. My voice is knacked. But I'm a happy shoutyman tonight! Get in!

Faversham Town 2-1 Whitstable Town
Starting line up:
William Godmon, Ryan Cooper, Jamie Maxted, Matthew Bourne, Ashley Brown, David Botterill, Daniel Carrington, George Monger, Charley Robertson, Luke Harvey, Renford Tenyue.
What a brilliant afternoon. A big crowd, a great game of footy and to top it all, the right result. Did we deserve it? A resounding YES.
We're the first to seriously threaten. A Ryan Cooper throw from the left, comes to George Monger, who unleashes a fierce half-volley goalwards-sails not too far over. Next up, Ryan Cooper wins the ball on the right touchline, keeps going and going, slices through the defence, into the area, but the low shot is wide of the right upright. Whitstable concede possession in midfield, the ball is sprayed out wide to Renford Tenyue on the right. The resultant shot is wild and doesn't trouble the Whitstable keeper. At the other end Dean Grant is released, bearing down on goal, our keeper comes out, edge of the area, spreads and saves. Good save. And on 25, a Ryan Cooper throw from the right, into the area, comes to Charley Robertson, who drags it passed his man and slots home from close range. A deserved lead. Luke Harvey's persistence wins us a corner. George Monger takes from the right, outswinging, Ryan Cooper's header meets but their keeper saves on the line. Jamie Maxted makes progress down the left, feeds Luke Harvey, edge of the area, squares to Charley Roberston in a good position, the shot is narrowly wide of the right post. David Botterill breaks up a Whitstable foray in midfield, passes to George Monger who tries his luck from distance. Decent effort, an awkward bounce just in front of the kepper, clawed away for a corner. Charley Robertson receives out left, on the halfway line. And then proceeds to cut right through the Whitstable defence, to the edge of the area, cuts inside to a central position and shoots. But not enough on the strike and relatively easy for the keeper. It would have been a great goal......
1-0 at H-T.
T'is fair to say that pre-match conversations regarding expectations for this match had included words such as feisty. Not surprising considering some of the background to this match. But that proved off the mark. Competitive, yes, but a very controlled half from us with some decent stuff played. Fully in the ascendancy and deserving of the 1-0.
Second half and Whitstable are out of the traps quickest. A Dean Grant cross from the right, gets caught by the wind, which for a moment looks like it might go in, but drifts just wide of the far post/bar. We allow Dean Grant another strike from distance. Wide of the right hand post. But, on 65, a George Monger corner from the left, David Botterill (I think) gets a header on it, out to Matthew Bourne, who somehow gets a boot on it (it's high) and it loops over the keepers' leap. Cue celebrations both on and off the pitch. 2-0. But the two goal cushion is short-lived. 3 minutes later, a deep Wayne Wilson corner from the left is headed home at the back stick. 2-1. William Godmon makes a fantastic save from a close range strike, saving low and on the line. Our keeper stays on the floor, clutching the ball to himself. Perhaps a measure of how close that was. Really good save. And then the moment we hoped we'd avoid. We concede a free-kick not far out of the area. Right side. Breath held, referees whistle, Wayne Wilson takes, it sails passed the left post/bar. Breath released. And then, soon after, the same again. No........... So, the same routine, this time the kick is on target, but our keeper gets across, full stretch, to tip it over. Another fine save. with 10 to go, john Scarborough is on for Luke Harvey. Soon after, more late substitutions as David Botteriil and Charley Robertson make way for Mobolaji Dawodu and Liam King.
2-1 at F-T.
So, I've slightly surprised myself re the second half decent chance count. That sometimes happens when you go through the notes. But the important count is that one that reads 2-1. For me, we thoroughly deserved this win.
Reasons to be cheerful:
a) a very decent 350+ crowd b) Luke Harvey returning. Fantastic. c) a very important 3 points - given other results around us today. Still in that play-off battle. d) a very important 3 points - because it was a local derby (etc). Yes. Get in. e) I have no voice. It's knackered. I've prescribed myself (celebratory) beer. Very soothing. Huzzah.
Sponsor's MOM: No idea. Couldn't hear. It was very, very noisy on that halfway line.
FTFC - the best club. COYW.

Great film footage Mr K. And what a couple of goals!
First Charley does a head and toe combo that ranks alongside Dele Alli for showboat goal of the weekend. Then Matt Bourne deftly lobs the keeper to become joint top scorer - heading for 25 this season?
And some top class keeping from Will too - more than matching the set pieces from the formerly unstoppable Willo. Formerly unstoppable. But then he never had to get past Will before.
Look at those highlights again. Every single man on the pitch is doing his stuff - chasing back, providing options, making space, closing down.
A permanent record of a highly enjoyable afternoon.
