With 16 league matches left this season, I decided to have a look at how many points we have taken from the past 16 league fixtures.
By my maths, the answer is 28.
I don't think it is much of a secret that Ray is targeting 80+ points to try to get into the Play-offs and therefore wants an average of two points a game.
28 from 16 isn't far off!
Especially when you think Josh Stanford has missed a fair chunk - he missed some at the start before he re-signed - and more by being away. Meanwhile, Jamie Maxted missed two through suspension, George Monger missed one through injury and Ashley Brown missed a few, too.
Last season, Whyteleafe came 5th and reached the Play-offs quite comfortably with just under 80 points.
Unfortunately, although it changes on a weekly basis, 80 points looks like it might not be enough!
Hastings will be looking for another 30+ points and sound like some of their wins have been unconvincing of late, however, they have two games in hand and therefore 18 games to play with.
Worthing are now looking the most likely to definitely be in the Play-offs, as they are eight points clear of us.
Then, Guernsey will be looking for 25+ from their last 16, although, will now have less and less difficult away Tuesday evenings to deal with!
One of the Wards suggested a points tally of 82 may be the target for the Play-offs and one of them might be talking sense for once.
In terms of the games, we have left to play, we still have plenty of the better sides still to play, albeit we seem to have most of the better teams at home.
Folkestone, Hastings and Corinthian-Casuals still need to travel here.
We do, of course, have the journey to Guernsey, as well!
But we also have Peacehaven, Chipstead and Whitstable all to play at home - all theoretically winnable looking at the table although, particularly that last one, will probably be harder than it looks.
We also have the Robert Dyas League Cup Semi-Final and (hopefully) Final to look forward to but that shouldn't be a problem congestion-wise.
