Back at Salters Lane for a local derby - not a bad way to start 2016!
Both teams come into the match in decent form.
The weather forecast suggests the pitch may well be in less than ideal condition, too.
So, there's a few levellers and I suspect it will be pretty tight.
But, hopefully, we will show that little bit of extra quality which - in the long run - will get us into the Play-offs (* Fingers crossed *).
Can't wait, it's been far too long!
See you there.

Full-time score: Faversham Town 1 (Bourne) Sittingbourne 0.
Another big match, another big win!
As predicted, the conditions were difficult but we dealt with that.
Onto Tuesday - a Semi-Final place at stake!
Let's hope we can keep this good run going.

Faversham Town 1-0 Sittingbourne
Starting line up:
William Godmon, Ryan Cooper, Jamie Maxted, Matthew Bourne, Ashley Brown, Daniel Carrington, George Monger, David Botterill, Charley Robertson, Liam King, Renford Tenyue.
It's always nice to be able to slip one of the great football cliches in. So here goes. A game of two halves. Both teams battling against extremely difficult conditions in the first half. Perhaps not too much in it. So equal at half time was probably about right. Second half the conditions relented to a degree (although still difficult), and we certainly made the best use of the improved conditions to record a deserved win.
Charley Robertson latches on to a ball out of defense, drives forward, pierces the Sittingbourne defense, but is brought down in full flight. With some amongst the crowd calling for a red, the referee's decision is a free-kick and a yellow for the Sittingbourne number 5. George Monger's free-kick is deflected for a goal-kick. Sittingbourne benefit from Ashley Brown being beaten by the conditions, a run in on goal and a firm shot is beaten away at his left hand post by William Godmon. Fine stop, Corner. An attack down our right, Ryan Cooper's raking cross is met by their keeper, right on the very edge of his area, just denying the run of Renford Tenyue. But a close call-one of those sharp intake of breath moments. David Botterill is penalised (looked a good ball winning tackle to me) down our left. A free-kick is swung into our area, a low hard shot and William Godmon is in exactly the right spot to parry the shot away. Great block. Jamie Maxted spreads the ball left to right, Ryan Cooper's cross is met at the near post by Renford Tenyue's header, just wide. 0-0 at H-T. And it looked hard work out there.
Second half and an upbeat start form us. Daniel Carrington intercepts a weak goalkeeper clearance, brings it forward, plays in Liam King, the low shot is saved by the keeper at his left hand post. Corner. But the pressure is building on the Sittingbourne defense. On 55, Charley Robertson collects on our right, cuts inside, just outside the area, gets a shot away, keeper parries but only into the path of Matthew Bourne who slots home from close range. The goal had been coming. 1-0. (Confession time: my notes had Jamie Maxted down as the scorer, so not wishing to be accused of plagiarism, I name my sources and acquiesce to FAV Army's proven better eyesight/accuracy!!) Anyway, back to the important stuff. Soon after, Jamie Maxted, heads a George Monger corner just wide. Charley Robertson drives into the box, the ball falls to Liam King, the shot is wide, a bit of a panic in their defense, the ball is cleared out of the box, David Botterill's shot from distance is a foot over the bar. A Sittingbourne corner, their right, results in a low shot from their right. William Godman makes an important, clean save. With attackers in attendance, no hint of a rebound. On 80, Stuart King is on for Liam King. A cross field ball is intercepted, Sittingbourne attack quickly through the centre, simple ball to the right, just outside the box, a low hard shot fizzes wide. Just for a moment, we feared the worst. On 83, Mobolaji Dawodu is on for Renford Tenyue. One final chance. Stuart King receives, plays in Mobolaji Dawodu, fine ball, inside the area, but the keeper saves with his legs. 1-0 at F-T.
Sponsor's MOM : Matthew Bourne.
An excellent win in difficult conditions against a team hitting some form. What a fine way to start the new year. And yes, that celebratory beer has gone down extremely well. Cheers.
So, reasons to be cheerful:
a) an excellent win in difficult conditons....... b) decent attendance. 286 I think it was. More of that would be good. c) another clean sheet. But not just that, the work ethic and commitment underpinning it. d) up to fourth, into the play off places. e) a cup quarter final to look forward to on Tuesday.
All good news. FTFC - a fantastic place to be. See you on Tuesday. Big (No, massive) game. Can't wait. COYW.
