I don't know about anyone else but, for me, this has the feeling of a big, big weekend!
Hythe Town v Faversham Town - Two of Kent's form sides clash.
Ramsgate v Worthing - 3rd v 2nd.
Herne Bay v Hastings United - Two Play-off chasing sides, both with loads of games in hand on the rest of the league, face each other.
We'll have some important decisions to make at both ends of the pitch tomorrow!
Renford is banging on the door for a start after Tuesday but both Kings are playing well up front.
Then, at centre-back, do we stick with Bourne and Scarborough, bring Ashley straight back in or even drop Carrington in there?
You'll have to make your way to Reachfields tomorrow afternoon to find out.

Full-time score: Hythe Town 2 Faversham Town 0.
There is no way to gloss over this one, I'm afraid - not a good performance!
It really was a drab match this afternoon.
We had one genuine chance in the first-half through John Scarborough who forced a save from their keeper and another towards the end, when we were 2-0 down, as Josh Stanford shot over.
Meanwhile, their only two real openings were their two goals!
Just like Walton Casuals last week, Hythe are possibly slightly better than their league position of 15th suggests.
But they certainly are nowhere near Play-off contenders as far as I'm concerned and I'm not sure how they have won seven of their last eight fixtures.
Once again, I felt it was the issue of us dropping our performance when we are not playing the very best sides!
If we are to make the Play-offs again this season, we simply cannot afford to do that.
We probably need about 40 points from our remaining 21 league matches, which remains a difficult but doable ask, particularly when you think that Josh Stanford and Stuart King were on the bench today.
However, to do that, we simply have to find a way to beat the lower sides in this league on a regular basis and our remaining fixtures this month are a perfect chance to do that with East Grinstead Town (18th), Walton & Hersham (17th) and Chatham Town (20th) to come!
Hopefully, we can get back on track next Saturday.

Hythe Town 2-0 Faversham Town
Starting line up:
William Godmon, Ryan Cooper, John Scarborough, Matthew Bourne, Jamie Maxted, George Monger, Daniel Carrington, David Botterill, Charley Robertson, Liam King, Renford Tenyue.
Reachfields, not one of our happier hunting grounds. And so it proved again. It certainly wasn't pretty. A sC**ppy game of few chances. Plenty of endeavour, from both sides, but certainly not easy on the eye. Oh, and the pitch was rubbish. Which possibly went some way to explaining the type of match we saw. Anyway onwards.
I think the first half we shaded. We looked the most likely, but struggled to carve out decent chances. Our best chance of the first half sees a George Monger free-kick from the left hand side, eventually come out to John Scarborough who half-volleys towards goal. In truth, the Hythe keeper makes a fairly comfortable save diving high to his right, both hands on the ball. A George Monger corner, eventually comes out to Jamie Maxted, on the edge of the box, takes a punt, but straight at the keeper. In between these chances, a dangerous ball from Hythe's right flashes across our goal, the nearest Hythe man fails to make a connection.
So 0-0 at H-T. And the general feeling that we'd shown just enough to win this game.
A double substitution at the start of the first half. Stuart King and Josh Stanford on for Renford Tenyue and Charley Robertson. And first 10 / 15 we were on top, but crucially, without any sustained periods of pressure. A Stuart King free-kick forces the keeper into a smart save, but fails to hold, we can't get anything on the loose ball and it's cleared. And then Hythe build up a period of sustained pressure from which they score. On 65, a corner from their right is met on the volley at the far post-smashed home. 1-0. And on 79 we're caught on the break, we end up 2 on 1, from the right, the ball is slipped passed our last defender, and the spare Hythe man has an empty net to aim at. 2-0. Will Johnson-Cole is on for Stuart King who seems to be carrying an injury. A late chance, a long clearance, a great headed flick on by David Botterill and Josh Stanford is in on goal, but hooked over the bar.
2-0 at F-T.
So, one of those games. Can't really complain about the result, once Hythe got their noses in front it became very difficult. They had something to hold onto and raised their game. So, fair enough. Except, and there's a but coming. That pitch really was awful. (Am I allowed to say that's the worst pitch I have seen this year?). Any extra quality is going to be snuffed out by that pitch. A real leveller. Just one example, late on George Monger takes aim, a decent shooting opportunity, the ball bobbles horribly, not just a slight deviation, but suddenly it's mid-shin height. The resultant shot fails, the Hythe fans praise their hallowed turf.
So, leaving the sour grapes.
Reasons to be cheerful:
a) our pitch is better than Hythe's (no sour grapes-honest guv). b) of course a disappointing result, losses always are, but a bit of perspective, finally beaten after an 8 game unbeaten run in the league. Not to mention a cup quarter final to look forward to. Exciting times. c) a home game to look forward to next week. Can't wait already. Looking forward to a better ShoutyPerformance next week. Not at our Shouty best today.
COYW. Still the best club.

Agree with both FAV army and dave comments. Well written and thoughtful but would just like to add:
One off performances not hitting the heights are inevitable sometimes but we can't afford them to start being a trend during the rest of this season. With Stuart seemingly having a "niggling" injury recently, I'm concerned where our goals are going to come from to push us back up the league and especially into play off contention. It was our creativity lacking today.
One more reason to be cheerful - Whitstable's trip to Guernsey ending in yet another defeat lol

This jinx thing....
Just been looking back at the recent results / fixtures, & it would appear that the last time I was present at a FTFC victory was away at Folkestone on 17 October.
Since then I've missed every win - home or away. But been present at every defeat and draw.
Pure coincidence....of course. Touch wood !
