Full-time score: Molesey 1 Faversham Town 5 (L.King X 2, Stanford, S.King and Grant).
Another new ground this evening for myself (now just the two to go - EGT and DW - to complete the Ryman South set).
And a very worthwhile journey it was, too!
Molesey are a decent side, maybe not quite as good as their league position suggests, but they are far from as average as we made them look tonight.
With the way we ran at their defence, we looked like scoring every time we attacked!
Liam King and Josh Stanford, in particular, really impressed me tonight but everyone played very well.
So, we are now exactly halfway through the season and have amassed 40 points from 23 league matches and are sitting in 5th for the moment with a few gaps beginning to appear in the table (although, we are a lot higher in terms of games played than most).
Hopefully, our bad patch this season is now out the way, as well.
So, if you think that hopefully our worst run of form is behind us and we can get more than 40 points from our remaining league fixtures which is very achievable, we will be unlucky to end up on 80+ points and end outside the Play-off places at the end of this season!
Of course, you also have to factor in the fact we still have to play the likes of lowly Whitstable (and their new management team), East Grinstead and Sittingbourne twice, whereas we have played second-placed Worthing, fourth-placed Ramsgate, sixth-placed Carshalton - and now - Molesey twice, too.
But for now, our only focus will be on keeping our unbeaten run, which now stands at seven league matches, going on Saturday against Walton Casuals (at Merstham, don't forget)!
Can't wait, see you then.
